Technologies was contracted to develop technology and
procedures to improve the current state-of-the-technology on
an industrial process. Current methods are typically slow,
noisy, dusty, and at times unsafe. 3U was charged
with developing and demonstrating a method that is fast,
environmentally and ergonomically friendly, as well as safe
for the operator. This approximate 3-man-year effort is
being conducted with our engineering staff, under the
supervision of our Vice President for Engineering. It
consisted of researching all possible methods to perform the
task, conducting trade-studies to evaluate the feasibilities
of each, down-selecting the potential candidate
technologies, and conducting feasibility tests on those
technologies. Feasibility testing is always conducted under
the supervision of a senior engineer and in accordance with
best industry practice. Using the results of trade-studies,
data collected from vendors, our engineering test results,
and best engineering practice, 3U has adapted
existing technologies to apply to the specific requirements
of our contract and customer. We conduct program and safety
reviews with the customer on a monthly basis, and the final
deliverable to the customer will be a full demonstration to
show the performance, operational and safety characteristics
of our final design.
